Celebrating beauty, empowerment, and artistry–Rabiya Mateo graced the Art+ Magazine 90: The Empowerment Issue, embodying the spectacular and empowering art of the late great Filipino artist, Glenn Bautista. For this magazine feature, Rabiya Mateo was a completely picturesque vision, defining why she was chosen as the perfect medium for this concept. Rabiya was dressed in a “Deathless” ensemble from Jeremy Bautista of h._.waa and adorned with the striking masterpiece from LVNA By Drake Dustin, styled by Mika Reyes.

The cover highlights the awe-inspiring abstract masterpieces of Glenn Bautista as it is something that today’s generation would truly appreciate as “it was ahead of its time” said the Art+ creative director Kim Albalate. Glenn Bautista is known for its wide spectrum of arts and is deemed as “too progressive, too experimental, too restless,” something that makes him not the typical artists who often boxed into one medium.
Interconnecting this issue to women’s empowerment in celebration of the women’s month, the beauty queen-actress, and advocate, Rabiya Mateo was chosen as the perfect medium to grace this magazine feature, Abalate said that, “And since this issue is also about women empowerment, we wanted someone confident enough to be the extension of the canvas and bring Bautista’s art to life. Rabiya Mateo is the perfect ‘medium’ for the concept. She was open to the ideas we discussed.”

For this artsy look of Rabiya Mateo, it was an impressive fusion of talents of the hair and makeup artists, Kendra Elmido Mendez and Ash Lei Bantilan who perfectly slay the glam game for this feature.
