Manila Luzon rose to fame after competing in the Emmy Award-winning reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3 as a runner-up, and after this, she also starred in all-stars seasons 1 and 4, bringing Filipino glam with her drag persona to the global stage through her fame and popularity. Manila Luzon was raised by a Filipina mother, which is why she grew up still being familiar and close by heart to Filipino culture.
Recently, the trailer of Drag Den, the new reality drag competition show has been released and gathered thousands of views and countless reactions on social media, this will be hosted by the queen, Manila Luzon, and is considered the first-ever official drag show in the Philippines directed by Rod Marmol under Cornerstone Entertainment.
Manila Luzon said in her interview in MEGA Drag that “The Philippines deserves more than just a copy-paste.” The drag queen also talked about the show and said that the Drag Den is unique and different, in its format, style, and structure, making it not the typical Drag Race and something that the Philippines can be proud of having. Manila Luzon proudly said that every queen cast in this show is different in their own style, sense of humor, and persona, a diverse set of queens.
